Hi!

We had such a wonderful weekend. This was Grace and Sam's First Communion weekend. The service was beautiful. I am so proud of them.

This week I will be posting some Mother's Day cards I have made. They will all be out of a Stampin' Up! stamp set called Wild Rose. The paper I used is some I found at Michael's and I thought this stamp set worked well with it.

Soccer Saturday!

Today is the day! Soccer Saturday! Grace and Sam are looking forward to their first soccer games of the season. To tell you the truth so am I. It has been a long winter and I am ready for some fresh air.

Along with the ATC club I do an additional swap with some of the ladies there. This is one of the card I swaped yesterday.

Well, off to the fields, hope you can stop by!

Guess what!?!?!?!?!

Tomorrow is Soccer Saturday! We will be at the field at 9:00 am with Sam and at 3:00 pm with Grace. If you are looking for an excuse to get outside, come by and cheer the kids on. We would love to see you there. We will be on the U8 fields.

Today is my Artist Trading Card (ATC) club. I have joined a group of ladies who get together and swap ATC's once a month. An ATC is the size of a football/baseball card and you swap them with other artists. It is a great way to get ideas and to see new techniques. Each month there is a design theme. This month the theme was vintage. The cards I posted are what I will be trading. (Hope this did not spoil the surprise, Ruth.)

Have a great day!

Hi! Long time no blog! Guess who signed up on Facebook! Wow is that fun. I have been chatting with people I have not chatted with in ages! It has been a lot of fun catching up.

We were in Chicago last week, exploring the city. I really enjoy taking the train in with Dave and the kids. We always find something different to do. I am looking forward to the re-opening of the dolphin exhibit at the Shedd. I believe that happens next month. This time we got to ride the new double-decker train over. That was awesome. It was only the 7th trip it had taken.

Today's card is a get well card/thinking of you card that I made using Stampin' Up! stamp sets Inspired by Nature & God's Way. I used a brayer for the back ground. Other than just a normal Stampin' technique.

Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful day.

Well, we are getting anxious for spring break at our house. Spring Break starts on Friday. Woo Hoo! You know what comes after Spring Break! Summer Vacation! Ah, the lazy days of summer, no schedules to keep just hot days at the beach! Oooooo, I can't wait for the kidos to be out of school.

Did I mention that Sam was doing a wrestling clinic at the high school? He has had a lot of fun doing this clinic. He seems to really like wrestling.

Lookie what I got in the mail yesterday!!!!! I just love receiving handmade cards in the mail. It is such a great feeling. Isn't this the card the cutest???
My friend Heather made it. She stopped by the other day with her adorable son, Ami. We had a nice chat and then she made my day by sending me a handmade card. I got so excited when I saw the envelope all stamped with swirls and a bird sticker. It was just adorable. Thanks, Heather!

Good Morning!

The kids do not have school today! Woo Hoo! Hopefully they will sleep in a little and catch up on their sleep. They are both under quota. Today we are going shopping. We are in search of a suit for Sam and a white dress for Grace. (First Communion is approaching quickly and I need to get on the ball).

The card I have posted is one I made for my girlfriend. She has a wedding next month and asked if I would make her a card. I love it when that happens.

The set I used is Priceless, you can find it on page 121 of the current Idea Book & Catalog. Speaking of IBC's. I do have them for sale. The are 7.00 (reg. pr. 9.95) or FREE with a 50.00 order. Hello-

Well one sleepover down one to go. Holy Cow!!! 4 boys have the energy of 20. I tell you what. I thought 4 was good number but, man there was a lot of energy in our house this weekend. I am not even going to share what time those 8 year olds went to sleep, but I will say it was early Saturday moring before they were out. I don't think I have stayed up that late since my college days.

Enjoy this sunny day!

Saturday

I have been working on crafts for Grace's Birthday party. This is one of the items the girls will be making. The journals will have each of the girls name on them. Their class does a lot of writing. I can not believe they are writing in cursive already.
I don't know if you can tell but the bear paws have glitter in them. They will also be making daisy pens to go with them. That is what the daisies you see in the picture are.
Grace is so excited about her slumber party. She has been to a number of them this year and now it is her turn. The little girl can not be any more excited. I have recruited my best bud Shelley to help out with the crafts. I am so grateful she can come and help.
Well, it is a birthday party weekend for us. Last night Grace went to one and today Sam is going to one. Busy, busy busy.
Have a great weekend!

Friday

Wow, I can not believe how fast this week has gone. I have been busy getting things together for Grace and Sam's birthday parties. They will be turning 8 on the 20th. Talk about hard to believe. These last 8 years have just flown by.

Sam is having some buddies spend the night next Friday. He has labeled it a Wii Sleepover. He is so stinkin' excited about it, he can't sleep. He decided he wants to do a craft in addition to playing games. So I came up with a journal for them to make. Instead of the word notes the journals will have each of the boys names on them. Their class is really big on writing in journals. I am going to print some pictures of the party for them to put inside.

Well thanks for stopping by!

Saturday...Burrrr!

I was taking some pictures for my blog and realized the lighting is just horrible. The cloudy days are really starting to get to me. I need a sunny day to give me a boost. Yesterday was very windy. I am grateful we did not have snow to go along with it.

This card is done with the Simply Said kit by Stampin' Up! Again, I used the felt flowers from the Flower Fusion Kit. I think these flowers are adorable.

Grace is off to a soccer clinic at 8am so I better get in the shower...guess who gets to take her!

Friday, February 27, 2009

We made it to Friday.

This card is made from the Flower Fusion kit on page 177 of the Stampin' Up! Spring & Summer IB&C.

Guess what???? It's snowing. You locals who stop by probably know that. On the bright side maybe we will get that snowman in yet...
Did you all hear the news? Stampin' Up! is going back to one catalog per year. As a demo, personally, I am glad to hear this. They will be producing three mini-catalogs in addition to the one big catalog. The minis will have new hostess sets too! Great news.
These are pages six and seven of the scrapbook for Grace & Sam's teacher. I have all the pages completed...except (there is always and except) the final page I am in search of a poem about boys. Something short and sweet if anyone knows of one or a website and are willing to share I sure would be grateful. Next week is her last week. The kids very sad about this. She is such a great teacher.

Thanks for looking & have a great Saturday.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is about all I have to say about Lake Effect Snow Warnings in February! Even Grace and Sam are tired of the snow. Winter is back. I just realized we have not made a snowman this year. We made a huge snow fort, but no snowman! I be we still have time; don't you?

These are the second & third pages of the scrap book I am working on. I do have to admit I am having a lot of fun with it. Of course it is really not that hare because I am using a Stampin' Up! Simply Scrapin' Kit. The colors are all coordinated for me. All I have to do is the layout. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Scrapbooking

I have always struggled with scrap booking. Card making is so much easier for me. One piece of card stock folded to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 add a some stamped images and a few embellishments and Wa-lah you are done.

Scrap booking on the other hand is a commitment. First you have to decide what photos to scrapbook, then you have to decide is there going to be a theme. Do I want to use the same color combo through the book? What size do I want to make!?!?!?!?! Wow!!!! I could spend a whole week just making those decisions. How do you start your scrap books? Leave your comments here. I am looking for suggestions....

These are the next pages in the 6x6 album I am working on.

Thanks for stopping by!
