Monday...

Wow, another Monday. Not much going on today. I go up to the school and help with walking track. No math center for me today.

I have started working on Thanksgiving cards, did I just say that??? I love Thanksgiving. The last few years we have hosted it. I just love everything about it. The preparation, the family coming for the weekend, the cooking, the eating, the Friday shopping, the trip to Chicago on Saturday. We always have such fun.

This card was made using the SU set Thankful Thoughts. I water colored the pumpkin and put Crystal Effects on top.

Thanks for looking & have a great day!

Sunday

I love Sundays. We get to sleep in a little, have a leisure breakfast, then off to church. After church we come home and watch football the rest of the day. Go Chicago Bears! Yep, I love Sundays.

This card was a fun one today. I colored it with SU markers and added Crystal Effects to the butterfly wings. I also added dots to the wings.

Thanks for looking! Have a Super Sunday!

Happy Halloween!

BOO! Happy Halloween to YOU! Today is the class Halloween Party. Grace is Minnie Mouse and Sam is Indiana Jones. They are very excited and it will probably be this way until Christmas.
Trick or Treating was Thursday night since SJ has a playoff game tonight. Let's Go BEARS!!!! We are going to the game and will be cheering the Bears on to victory!
Today's cards is one of my favs. It was very fun to put together. I made them for the kids teachers for Halloween. I usually send in Carmel Apples, but everyone is eating healthy and I thought this was a good substitution. I totally copied these cards from Dianne. I just used different paper and a different witch stamp. Dianne makes the most beautiful cards. Check out her gallery at SCS. It is awesome! I would post the link but I am unsure how to do that.

Thanks for looking & Happy Halloween!

Good Works...

Good works are links that form a chain of love - Mother Teresa

Isn't that a wonderful phrase. I like to think of card making as good works...hopefully the cards I make and send to people will create a chain of love. Wow, that is pretty deep for me on a Thursday morning. Perhaps I should go back to bed before I hurt myself. LOL!

I created this card using my brayer (love that tool...just don't use it enough...I get very inky fingers when I do). The Stampin' UP! set that I used is called Inspired by Nature. It has awesome images and phrases. You can find it on page 100 of the Fall-Winter IB&C. Don't forget if you want to place an order just visit my web site. It is all set up and you can order directly off of it. http://www.twinmom320.stampinup.net/ Shopping made simple!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Yesterday we carved pumpkins. I post those too.

Todays card is another, you guessed it, Halloween card. I just love making Halloween cards. My friend Dianne does too. She makes some of the most beautifully detailed cards I have ever seen.

Sunday...

Wow another weekend went speeding through my life. I just cherish the weekends now that school started. Today we went to a corn maze. We has so much fun. I really forced us to spend time together. We were in the middle of all this corn and had to work as a family to get out. All of us enjoyed it. I was able to take some great pictures. I'll have to ask the kids if I can post them. Grace and Sam had an Internet safety assembly last year and it really made an impression on them. No way did they want me to post pictures of them on my blog.

We had our last soccer games for the season. CCD has started back up last week. This year Sam and Grace will be experiencing their First Communion. They are really looking forward to it and are a little nervous too. There is a lot to learn, I keep telling them everything will be fine.

Grace went to the Little Girl Cheerleading Clinic on Saturday! The girls were just adorable and did a fantastic job! I am really looking forward to Fridays game. For those of you who will be there, Grace will be on the North end of the field. The girls are cheering first quarter.

Dianne, I just can't believe that they could not sell popcorn until after the first half of the game. What was that about??? Was it to keep everyone from leaving. I have never heard of such a thing. Just think of all the money they lost.

The card above is one of the cards we will be making at the October Card Camp. I hope you can come. Be sure to call are e-mail me to reserve your place.

I hope you got to get outside and enjoy the wonderful weather we had this weekend.

Take care!

Here is the start of my Halloween cards, again, super easy to make. We will be doing some Halloween cards at the next card camp. Halloween and Fall is the theme.

Thanks for looking!

Have a great Friday!!!! Cheryl

EEEEKKKKK!!!!

Okay, here is my story. Our wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I am a tad short on time and purchased (EEEEEKKKKK!) a card for Dave. Please know I have not purchased a card in years.
I paid 2.99 for this plain card. There is no glitter, no eyelets, not a inch of ribbon on this card. I just can not believe the price of cards. The moral of my story is make your own cards...it is fun, cheaper and they look a whole lot nicer.

That is all I have for today. I hope you all have a great day and are staying dry. (Our neighbor-hood flooded yesterday.

Take care-

Remember Me?????

Hi there! It feels like I have been away forever and a day. I have a ton of things to catch you up on!

First of all we had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. We spent in at home. Some friends took us out on Lake Michigan in their boat. Grace and Sam had a wonderful time and it just makes Dave and I want a boat even more. We spent the remainder of the days at the beach. It was very relaxing. Good thing we did not travel. The glass hatch on my Explorer came off. The whole thing came off, scared me half to death. Luckily I caught it and it did not shatter. What a mess that would of been.

We are officially back in school. Those of you who know me well, know I get a real bad case of the BooooooHoooos on the first day of school. Yes, this happened again this year. Yikes! Will I ever get over this?????? The good news is Grace and Sam LOVE school (yes, I know it is only the first week, but I will take it!) We have had no issues about getting up in the morning. It has been AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They come home from school chatting about how great the day went. I am thrilled! This makes dropping them off at school in the morning so much easier than last year. We had a lot of problems in first grade, it was such a big change for them and there were many struggles through the year. So, it has been such a relief to have them come home happy.

Your turn....post a comment and tell me how you survived the first day of school!

(By the way I forgot to post the winner of the In-color paper contest! The winner was Linda!
Linda please give me a call I have your Kiwi Kiss card stock.)

Take care! Have a great weekend! Go BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello!

We have returned from the Wisconsin Dells. While there we stayed at Wilderness Territory. Three indoor water parks and three outdoor water parks. Fun! Fun! Fun! I got the chance to visit the Gina K Designs Retail Store. Fun! Fun! Fun! For me!!!! She is truly a talented lady. Her store is beautiful.

Today the kids and I met some friends at Binder Park Zoo. We had a great time. The weather was perfect.

The kids have received letters from their second grade teacher. (They will be in the same class again this year.) That is about all I have to say about that. Just not ready for school to start. This summer is going way too fast, I need to put the breaks on! I am not ready for my (7 year old) babies to go back to school.

I have a list compiled of retired SU stamp sets I am ready to part with. If you would like a copy please contact me and I will get you a copy ASAP.

Good Morning!

Well our summer has started winding down. Grace has had her second Rocket Football cheer leading practice. Which equates to summer is coming to a halt. UGGGG!!!

Sam is waiting for soccer to start. He is not old enough to play Rocket Football this year. He sure wants to play though. It is so hard for me to grasp they are going to be in the second grade this year. It just feels like yesterday we were bring them home from the hospital.

This is a card I made for card swap I am in. The set is called Just Football. The background is done freehand using a Chocolate Chip marker. I but some Crystal Effects on the football to make it shine.

Have a great day and thanks for looking!!! Don't forget to enter the drawing for you favorite new "in color"!!!!

Cool Sunday...

The air has a coolness to it today. The wind is directly out of the North. No beach for us. Just too cold. Grace and Sam had a great time at Art Camp last week. They made a stunning display of craft items for Dave and I to cherrish.

While they were off to camp last week I started working on our Disney Scrap Book. I will post the pages as I get them completed. I had a lot of fun working on this project. Ahhh...the memories!

Ohhhhh! I almost forgot! Be sure to check out my new web site. http://www.twinmom320.stampinup.net/

I just set this up last night! Super fun to play with!

Tuesday....

What a Monday we had!

Grace and Sam had their first dentist appointment a few weeks back. Well, it turned out Grace had one cavity and Sam had two. Yesterday we took them to have the cavities filled.

YIKES!!!!!! Sam had so much trouble with it. It turns out he has a very strong gag reflex. You guessed he threw up. Not just once but twice in the chair. My poor boy. He tried to be so brave. The worst thing is we have to take him back in two weeks to have the second cavity filled. Grace did pretty good with it. No major problems. I do have say they now both understand the importance of brushing and flossing!

Be sure to vote for your favorite new in color. It is your chance to win a FREE package for card stock! Everyone likes FREE SU product...RIGHT??????? (To post a comment just click on the word COMMENT below the post that you would like to comment on.)

Long time no post!

Well Hello!

It feels like ages since I have paid any attention to my blog! We got busy last week with golf clinic, sleep overs and birthday parties. Not sure how I made it through all that!

Dave and I did manage to go to dinner & a movie for my birthday last week...you guessed it The Dark Knight. I do have to admit it was a great movie.

I need to mention the August card camp will be held on Friday, August 1 only. No one has signed up for Saturday. I will post the September date soon. I am kind of holding off for soccer schedules. Seems like soccer just ended.

The new SU In Colors are Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. I hope you get a good idea of the shades from my photo. They are awesome!!! What is your favorite In Color shade??? Post it here and your name will going into a drawing for a package of our favorite In Color card stock.
I have notification that the new catalogs have shipped. I will have them very soon. Remember August 10 is the final day to order any retired stamps/accessories. Orders from the new catalog will be taken on August 11.
Stay cool!

Hi!

What a beautiful day. We are headed out to the school walking track. Grace and Sam are going to play on the playground while I walk the track. I signed up the kids for a golf clinic this week. It is a great program. They really seemed to enjoy it yesterday and they actually learned some things too! We take them golfing on a local par 3 course.

This is the final card camp card. This card is made with the Infinite Goodness set. The background of this card is done with bleach, the pear is water colored, and then clear embossing powder was melted over the top. Hope you enjoyed seeing the cards we are going to make.

There are still spaces available if you are interested. Send me a e-mail or phone me.

Wednesday

Good Morning!

Whew! What a busy morning. I sure feel like I have gotten a ton done. Just finished putting away the last of the laundry. I had a lot to catch up on, it got away from me. Glad to have it done.

Can you believe it is the middle of July and I am not counting down the days until Grace and Sam go back to school!!!! We are really having a great summer and we have not even gone on a family vacation yet. (We are planning a trip to the Wisconsin Dells in August.) A girlfriend and I took the kids to Chicago for the day. We went to the American Girl Store (I have so much fun there) and we hit the Lego store (it is fun there too). We had a great time. The train makes going to Chicago so easy. That has been our big trip so far this summer.

I love taking Grace and Sam to the beach. They have so much fun there. My legs have not been this tan in I don't know how many years. I truly feel blessed to live so close to such a beautiful beach!

Here is another card we will be doing at the card camp in August. The stamp set I used is called Just B. The papers used are Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red. I thought this card would make a nice B-Day card for a man.

By the way, Dianne I too remember you purchasing the Spring Garden set at the first SU party I hosted. It truly is amazing what we remember!!!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and have a great summer day!!!!!
